Good thriller, more than expected

Shortly after starting this book I knew what was going on. I continued listening though and it was an entertaining story, despite knowing the ending... However, I didn't know the ending and it was more complex than I had guessed. I was glad to be surprised and it certainly added to the book. A decent psychological thriller.

Helen Keeley does a great job of narrating this story. She's engaging and entertaining.

A lot of twists & turns

Overall I enjoyed this book. There were a number of good twists and turns to keep me intrigued. The end was not disappointing, but highlights that life can be very complicated! The narration was pretty good.

Meh...

Enjoyed it up until Clare realises who the baddie is , and promptly lets him know while they are alone... after that I got bored. Guessed a lot of the story... a bit of a rushed ending.

Glad the ordeal of listening is over!!!!

Would you try another book written by Sue Fortin or narrated by Helen Keeley?

No

Has Sister Sister put you off other books in this genre?

No but this was so predictable and not realistic

What three words best describe Helen Keeley’s performance?

boring
flat
no emotion

If this book were a film would you go see it?

no

Any additional comments?

It was predictable, not even realistic in places, a solicitor who finds evidence but takes no pictures? No really was expecting good things but no I am let down and disappointed as I love to rave about new books.

So much potential...

Well narrated but story lacked...something. It was blatently obvious early on what was going on with Alice. Would have been more entertaining if it had been more subtle and part of the twist. The reactions of Clare's closest friends and family were cringingly unrealistic when Clare raised her suspicions. The ending could have been so much better. Instead, it felt rushed and turned out to be a huge anticlimax.

Well-paced predictable paint-by-numbers 'thriller'

I have absolutely no idea how people can say this was gripping and surprising? This is a formula plot, with the 'bad character' and supporting cast easily spotted in the first few chapters. Even the detail dropped in as background was verging on 'neon signpost' obvious. Thriller 101, this paint-by-numbers mystery is light entertainment. The protagonist is an annoying female, who seems a little slow on it. The husband and mother feel unrealistic and weirdly cliche; no one wld actually respond to these events like they are portrayed in this novella.

Keeley is an adept narrator and her well-paced, nicely toned, narration is lovely to listen to.

Its a light, easy listen... it's not a mystery unless you are trying really hard not to see all clunky clues. Like I have said, its perfectly acceptable pap for the masses. A fine read if you are looking park your brain - I found it perfectly suited for my morning commute as no brain-cells required.
