Summary

They come at night.

Forward.

A stranger staggers out of the wilderness under the cover of a blizzard and stumbles into a diner full of people. He collapses in the entryway, unzips his jacket, and allows the object hidden inside to fall out. Screaming commences.

Down.

Four old college buddies embark upon their annual elk hunting trip into the Rocky Mountains. This promises to be their last, for the passage of time is as merciless and unpredictable as the Colorado weather. And they're not alone.

Help.

There are other hunters in the mountains, stalking game of a different breed. They know exactly what they're doing, because they've been hunting in these woods for a long, long time. And no one ever survives to betray their existence.

Compulsve listen to the end

I don't usually buy books under 8 hours length but this had really good reviews so I bought it. I listened to it all in one go. An edge of the seat listen. Quarter of the way through I guessed the origin of the hunters but this didn't put me off listening to the end. There was one part when I could have smacked the dozey sherif, he kept shouting stupid orders which if he had any sense he would have seen the real conditions and there was no way his orders could be carried out. It is a pity that the book was so short. It seemed that no sooner had I started then it was over and I was left in limbo. The narrator also gave it life, a great listen absolutely worth a credit even though it is under 3 hours long.

The unseen sometimes can be much scarier

This book is one of those rare books who is monsters or people you never see… Yet the whole time you’re on the edge of your seat wondering what will they do next. I think the anticipation made this book so much better the atmosphere building the character building all that plus great narration contributed to this being a great great book. If you like horror with intelligence read this book it is so good this is a horror book after it graduates from college… Yes it’s still likes horror, but can get you there in a much classier way. Did I already say this book was so good… It is. I totally recommend this book to those who love horror!
