Summary
There’s something out there: A juggernaut of evil bearing down to crush the Republic - unless one lone Jedi, shunned and reviled, can stop it.
Revan: Hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorians - and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares - and deep, abiding fear.
What exactly happened beyond the Outer Rim? Revan can’t quite remember, yet can’t entirely forget. Somehow he stumbled across a terrible secret that threatens the very existence of the Republic. With no idea what it is, or how to stop it, Revan may very well fail, for he’s never faced a more powerful and diabolic enemy. But only death can stop him from trying.

Absolutely Fantastic
The story of Revan is one of the greatest stories within the Star Wars universe.
It relies heavily on the back story of the brilliant 'Knights of the Old Republic' games, which could lead it to be somewhat confusing for those who have not played them. However if, like me, you were a huge fan of those outstanding games you will adore this story.
Now you can finally discovered the fate of Revan after the first 'KOTOR' game and be lead through a journey into the unknown regions by a perfect narrator, Mark Thompson. His delivery of the various characters, some of which are among my favourite of all the Star Wars eras and stories, is incredible. With each voice fitting perfectly as he paints a perfect picture of the settings and moods of each scene. I have listened to many of the Star Wars audio books and he remains, by far, my favourite narrator.
I cannot recommend this book enough, especially if you played the 'KOTOR' games. And for those who haven't, I highly recommend those games as well as they will set the stage for this unbelievably well crafted story. They remain to this day my favourite RPG games and this book takes the journey of Revan even further.

An interesting story, but not the ideal narator
I enjoyed the story, but the narrator has a deep and gravelly voice that doesn't fit well with the constant shift of speaker. in particular he doesn't suit any female voices and for wrongdoers he likes to shift to parodies of a cockney (working class London accents in the style of dick van dyke for men, or Transylvania vampires for women). for long stretches, especially for the first half of the book where multiple females spoke, I found it very hard to listen to the story, let alone imerse in it. that said, it got a bit easier later as fewer female characters remained...

My favourite Star Wars novel i've read/listened to
Enjoyed this more than any Star Wars novel i've listened to or read, great to finally find out what happened to Revan after the events of Knights Of The Old Republic videogame, a welcome addition was also the inclusion of other characters from the videogames. I'd recommend this as a standalone novel also as it does explain past events but any person who has played the games will benefit from the book or enjoy it more in my opinion. The narrator does an excellent job, especially his depiction of Sith Lord Skurge who is one of the main characters in the book. My only reason for giving 4 stars and not 5 for performance is my slightly picky opinion that they should use a female narrator for female parts although I know this is very rare.

This is the best thing ever!
If you could sum up Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan in three words, what would they be?
Awesome!, Vivacious and Powerful.
What did you like best about this story?
The story of course! (Also the narration of the author)
What does Marc Thompson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Marc Thompson actually made me visualize the area, persons, actions, voices, appearances and actually all of it. It was like watching a movie.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, actually! Some parts made me laugh, some surprised me and also a lot of parts shocked me.
Any additional comments?
Every Star Wars fan has to read this book. I find the Story of the Old Republic better then the movies.

Revan
Great story, great characters, not a great ending other than it serves one purpose, to set up more books
