Summary

Dina DeMille isn't your typical bed and breakfast owner. Her inn defies laws of physics, her dog is secretly a monster, and the only permanent guest of the inn is a former galactic tyrant with a price on her head. The inn needs guests to thrive and guests have been scarce, so when an arbitrator shows up at Dina's door and asks her to host a peace summit between three warring species, she jumps on the chance. Unfortunately, for Dina, bridging the gap between space vampires, the Hope-Crushing Horde, and the merchants of Baha-char is much easier said than done. To make the summit a success, she must find a chef, remodel the inn, keep her guests from murdering each other, and risk everything, even her life, to save the man she might fall in love with. But then it's all in the day's work for an innkeeper....

Loved it! But.....

Where does Sweep in Peace rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I defiantly loved this book! I would say it's not as high as new species series but it's certainly middle/high area

Who was your favorite character and why?

Main character

What didn’t you like about Renee Raudman’s performance?

Her voice!! I can not express myself how much I hated her voice!! The female character in the book is young. But unfortunately they gave her an annoyingly old grandma voice!!! It's that type of voice that really grates at you and athough the book is certainly worth reading the voice ruined for me. I didn't consider stoping half way but pushed on instead.

Any additional comments?

Next I think I might just read the book rather than listening to Rennes voice

MaggieMae’s review

This is my third listen and it’s only now dawning on Le who George is! Duh!
I love that this series weaves characters from their earlier series. Again 5 stars from me. I love all Ilona Andrew books

Unique story

I am reading a lot and a lot of stories are somewhat similar to each other if this genre . It is very refreshing to find something different and captivating.

I love how it is catered for adults rather than teenage audience. Most of the books of the similar genre target younger audience and not enough books are written for adults who are still interested in reading books about magic.

I liked the book as it was unpredictable and there were a lot of twists and turns that could not be anticipated. This kept me on my toes and wanting to continue to read.

Fun!

An epic adventure.

Colourful characters. Lots of action. Lots of story. Twists, turns, laughter, fun and an azz whipping or ten.

What I love about this is that there are no lies, secrets and nonsense. Straight forward entertainment without the need to create a soap opera melodrama or follow a formula. I love that and it makes me wanna keep reading.

I absolutely lóve the world building in this series. IT somehow manages to mix a slow and relaxed pace with exiting events, a wonderfull main character in an interesting setting

Love Gertrude Hunt and all that dwell within!

I read the very first book and loved it, then I saw that the rest of the series were on here!! So I jumped straight on and listen to the next 2 books fairly quickly.
I love the stories, the characters and plot. These aren't your run of the mill "I know how this ends" type of books! They kept me guessing, engaged and enjoying all of them....so far!!
The Author is awesome and has so many other books and series that I can't wait to start when these are finished.

Apple pie, poison, blood swords and skullduggery

A bittersweet story of interstellar peace negotiations set in an old fashioned American inn.
I often listen to this during global military flare ups. It’s a fantastic reminder of the cost of war and the courage needed to reach for peace. A powerful story - humourous, inventive and hopeful with a strong narrative performance. I weep every time. I just wish every warmonger and world leader would listen and do the same.
