Summary

Fyodor Dostoyevsky is a titanic among the world's great authors, and The Brothers Karamazov is often hailed as his finest novel. A masterpiece on many levels, it transcends the boundaries of a gripping murder mystery to become a moving account of the battle between love and hate, faith and despair, compassion and cruelty, good and evil.

This is an abridged version

Beautifully read, but it’s not clear in the description that this is an abridged version not the full text.

The narrator is THEE BESTT!!

The narrator made a picture with such a beautiful narration of a memorable work of literature.

Abridged version

This translation is not one of the best. It renders the characters in a kind of faux Victorian idiom and dilutes Dostoyevsky's humour.

It is negligent to have ripped Lise from the original text.

Yes, this is abridged

As a previous reviewer has said, it's not obvious that this is abridged. I have 3 things to say:
1. All the precious invaluabble philosophy is lost in this abridged version, a bare bones story is what you get.
2. Having said that, TPS reads it beautifully and draws you in. If this version spurs you to read the full book, as it did me, then a good has come of it.
3. Read it yourself, or failing that, listen to Frederick Davidson narrating it here on audible.

Fantastic narration and production

Really enjoyable listen. Good voicing pathos when needed. Good use of music in the intervals.

Alright I guess

Book is a classic but for some reason it didn't sit with me that well. I would recommend the book, but all in all it didn't sit well with me.
