Summary

In the beginning....

Three brothers - Gabriel, Michael, and Lucifer. Royalty. Archangels. United in devotion to their father and all his works.

But when Lucifer learns of their father’s latest creation - a new race, fashioned from crude matter and yet made in his image - he is consumed with resentment. Why have he and his angelic kind been overlooked?

After a bitter confrontation, Lucifer is cast out, doomed to an eternity of exile and punishment.

Unrepentant, he vows he won’t suffer alone. Mankind has made a powerful enemy - one determined to lure it into darkness and torment any way he can....

The Fall of Lucifer

The initial introduction immediately grabbed my attention but the scenes in heavenly realm were not as enthralling and it took a while for the storyline to continue moving at pace.

Although the main trust of the storyline follows the narrative from the Bible this is overall a work of fiction. I’m looking forward to the second book in the series.

Mesmerising, gripping and incredibly entertaining

From start to finish this is a roller coaster, non stop ride. Really REALLY gripping. One of the best audio books I've ever listened to, for sure! Already downloaded book 2 :)

Outstanding performance

The narrator really made this story come to life. As to the story itself, it was an interesting take on the scriptures. Well written. Perhaps an overabundance of testosterone since there wasn't even ONE female character (aside from Eve, Mary and a Jordanian princess, the latter speaking more than three lines of dialogue, which is more than I can say for the other 2 female characters).

For you?

This is a fictional book by Wendy Alecs own admission and there are many purely fictional ideas, and as a Christian some of them are hard to listen/read through. However taking these as fictional ideas and carrying on through (all of the series of the Chronicles of Brothers) I have been able to gain perspective on our existence and the universe; from before creation to creation, to the present time and the future.

The books are tied together, not perfectly (the Bible is for that!) but in a creative and relatable way that has helped me gain a connection through the ages with the people in the Bible and a glimpse of the spiritual world beyond.
Bible stories that can be hard to connect with - another world and distant have come alive, relevant and true in a way that I couldn't comprehend before.

The focus in this book is on the spiritual realm and angelic beings and the importance of their roles in history and woven in is their relationships and devotion to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Some may be put off by this but I look at it that it is far easier to write from the perspective of angelic beings than to write from the perspective of God.

There is no way I could ever imagine how God thinks and feels how He loves, how He views the world, how He has woven things together, planned, created, sustained, how He has interacted with generations, made decisions, worked carefully, considerately behind the scenes, juggling every complexity of the universe, dealing with the effects of evil, judgement and ultimately working for the outcome of good over evil giving the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus.
I personally couldn't write from God's perspective, but to imagine (still with a lot of limitations) and write from an angelic beings perspective is possible for me and this is the way I have approached these books.

They are not for everyone but for me, aside the Bible, they go hand in hand with John Eldredge's - All Things New as my favourite books.

A divinely good listen!

I loved this this from the first time I laid hands on the paperback. The story is the perfect marriage of science, spirituality, religion and it reads like a graphic novel. Might I also add, The Fall of Lucifer has been narrated perfectly!

Captivating and intriguing

Very easy listening, full of detail, easy to visualise.. It was easy to get caught up in the drama of it all. Loved the character portrayal and visual description of Lucifer and his fall from grace and his efforts to outwit his creator. The interaction and dynamics between the three brothers is full of life's twists and turns, covering the whole spectrum of emotions.. A good listen.
