Not a usual Sarah/Max mystery
Would you be willing to try another book from Charlotte MacLeod? Why or why not?
Have you listened to any of Andi Arndt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Only other Kelling/Bittersohn mysteries
Any additional comments?
If Sarah and Max are the only reason you listen to these mysteries, give this one a pass. But, if like me, the crazy Kelling family is filled with great characters you love, then give this one a try. Two of my favorites are the protagonists in this story...Emma and Theonia. The story is light, but, really, which of these stories aren't?
Also, if you are a Boston aficionado, that particular character is gone as well. The backdrop for the majority of the story is a small privately owned island in Maine. As a Maine native myself, my biggest critique of the story is Ms. Arndt's Maine accent. It's bad...Murder She Wrote bad. (Translation...laughable) If you're not from here, or if you are and can get past that, the performance is fine. It took me a couple of books to commit fully to Ms. Arndt's rendition after years of reading and rereading these books and hearing my own rendition in my head, but I enjoy her performances now, with just a few qualms here and there.
Give this one a try, keep an open mind, and enjoy!

What''s happening in the Island?
Put together a group of quit " Unusual" people on an Island in Maine. Let's throw in a hidden pirate treasure, add a couple robbers, stolen jewls, a caustic "mainer" and a Brahman Bostonion or two. Mix thoroughly add a little side of murder and you have the makings of a very funny "mystory!". Yup I like that word!!
