I'll think twice about reading Grisham again.
This should be called the rise and fall of Clay Carter. It isn't really anything other than a series of events in the life of a greedy lawyer.
I had hoped that Grisham would expose the way pharmaceutical companies rush through research in the race to make a profit by putting lives at risk. No, that was just a throw away part of the journey.
The character wasn't developed enough to carry emotional weight to the journey. I didn't feel for him.
Grisham has written some brilliant novels but this was just a lazy journey from rags to riches and nearly back again. It reminded me of why I'd stopped reading Grisham.
