Summary

Hi! I'm Charlie (don't call me Charlotte – ever!). History is boring, right? Wrong! The Victorians weren't all deadly dull and drippy. Lottie certainly isn't. She's eleven – like me – but she's left school and has a job as a nursery maid. Her life is really hard, just work work work, but I bet she'd know what to do about my mum's awful boyfriend and his wimpy little son. I bet she wouldn't mess it all up like I do ...

Narration does not sync up properly

It’s a good book and I like the narration but it jumps to a different point in the book at chapter 5 so I can’t follow.

The Lottie project

Amazing! All about a girl called Lottie who lives with her mum Jo. But her life changes...
Suitable for 5 plus. Jacqueline Wilson is very careful with appropriate words to use in books, even for younger children. Report by Katya Gower age 9 and 1 month, daughter of Lana Gower.

I loved it

I adored this book, it was a great passer of time. I love historical books, especially historical drama. I loved how it switched between the two girls, two girls a similar age and the same name but leading very different lives.

The Lottie Project

One of Wilson's better stories that I think would appeal to young and older listeners. It's very well read by Eve Karpf however the recording available from Audible is missing a couple of minutes around the halfway mark making that part of the story confusing as it suddenly jumps from one location to another. This is not because the story has been abridged, it is an error in the file.
