Summary

Fans of Marian Keyes, Lisa Jewell and Santa Montefiore will love Sunday Times best-selling author Sheila O'Flanagan's The Missing Wife.

Have you ever wanted to disappear?

When Imogen Naughton vanishes, everyone who knows her is shocked. She has a perfect marriage. Her handsome husband treats her like a princess. She's always said how lucky she is. So why has she left? And how will she survive without Vince?

What goes on behind closed doors is often a surprise, and Imogen surprises herself by taking the leap she knows she must. But as she begins her journey to find the woman she once was, Imogen's past is right behind her....

Will it catch up with her? And will she be ready to face it if it does?

Very enjoyable

Who was your favorite character and why?

Imogen, I liked her strength of charachter

What about Aoife McMahon’s performance did you like?

She did male voices well, without doing a silly voice. Her portrayal of Vince was especially good, he always sounded very menacing.

Any additional comments?

The word 'nevertheless' was overused, but apart from that I just really enjoyed the book.

Surprisingly, I loved it!

I was weary going in to this book because I was worried it would be too cliché or maybe it was the review I read rating it "mills &boon" that made me worry... but I thoroughly enjoyed this read/listen! Recently I've been so disappointed by the predictable/poorly written books I've tried but this was a refreshingly enjoyable read! I would definitely recommend it and I'll be trying more books by this author.

Couldn't put it down!

I loved this novel. Full of intrigue, suspense, and maybe a little sprinkle of romance...

A gentle wonderfully narrated story

Brilliant narration. The story itself is not unlike others I’ve read, yet I enjoyed it so much more. Sometimes you can’t put your finger on the reason. Perhaps the incredibly evocative locations and people descriptions, or just a classy heroine. Loved it and devoured it in two days.

Predictable romance, and a little disappointing.

I hoped this book would have a little more to justify the suspenseful title. However I found the book predictable and the heroine was mildly annoying!

Dublin and Southern France

An interesting story, but a bit spoilt for me by the narrator becoming mixed up with accents. You suddenly have a French man or woman speaking with an Irish accent which gets a bit annoying. Having said that it is worth a listen and it does bring you a little bit of Southern France on a cold English winters day.

Fabulous narrator, plausible story

A modern story - not my usual choice but a lite touch and lovely french highlights.
Beautiful characterisations enhanced by an excellent narrator.
