Summary

This was meant to be the perfect honeymoon.

A five-star beach resort in Vietnam, with white sands, private villas and world-class cuisine.

A chance for newlyweds Asha and Ollie Graveney to recover from a tragedy that has left them on the verge of collapse.

Except things don't go as planned.

When Asha wakes up in hospital after a brutal attack, her husband is nowhere to be found.

And paradise has turned into a nightmare....

Gripping Plot

Storyline was compelling, although at times a little over descriptive for my liking. Narration was easy to both listen to and distinguish the characters.

Great twist

Loved this book, so unexpected after twist & turns in the tale. Keep thinking you’ve sussed it then another idea enters your head! Kept me wanting more

Gripping novel brilliantly narrated

I really enjoyed this twisty take which was well plotted and convincing. I liked the juxtaposition of the central character from the wrong side of the tracks finding her way though the intricacies of her rich husband’s family and friends. The narrator is superb and elevated the audiobook to a five star experience

Fantastic page turner with twists and turns until the very end!

A great read for anyone who thrives on suspense!
Had me hooked from the start to finish.
Sadly, the audio quality of this book was very poor with a range of audible volumes.... I was frustrated by having to keep altering the volume on my device to be able to hear adequately! At first I thought it may have been the narrator, but her volume and tone did not change, so it must have happened during the recording.
Disappointing for audible but still a great book.

Gripping read.

If Intrigue and mystery are what your looking for this is the audio book for you, loved this book, loved the characters and lost sleep to get to the finish, well worth the tiredness. Highly recommend, plot was great and the narrator was realistic. Five stars. I’m looking for more from this author.

Beautifully written and equally beautifully read

When this started with flipping the timelines back and forth, I was initially irritated by it. That didn't last long as I was drawn in to the story.
I'm usually able to predict fairly easily what the twist will be. This book kept me doubting myself right to the end.
I'll miss the company on my commute.

Top Class Thriller with escapist luxury setting,

I love a good, thriller and this for me was a much better read/listen than the earlier "Tattletale" plus I always love a foreign, preferably luxurious setting and this 5 star Vietnam honeymoon resort ticked all my boxes.
I was intrigued and drawn in from the very beginning and I thought the plot was very well crafted with lots of twists and turns and mysterious reveals and teasers. I really relaxed and appreciated the great narration by the well known and very talented Pippa Bennet-Warner which made it just made a wonderfully enjoyable listen with great suspense and all the glamour and adventure of an exotic location thrown in.
It finished strongly and kept me guessing to the very end there was nothing too gritty or gory just great entertainment, clever gripping mystery with plenty of thrills and chills along the way. The ending did require a little suspension of disbelief but it was fresh and unique so no quibbles there.
I really enjoyed it and it would make a wonderful holiday listen or equally cheer up a cold rainy winter's day. I thought it was very well written and I will be looking out for Sarah J Naughton's next thriller with baited breath. 6 Stars!

Really enjoyable

I think I would have loved this book to read (rather than listen to) - as l didn't enjoy the narration. It sounds like she whispers the entire story and her voice drops really softly at times. Although that put me off, the story was really good and kept me listening to the end.

Good book but..

I read about a quarter of this book before misplacing and decided to finish it with audible. The narrator totally changed the characters for me. One character who is thought to be fairly young sounded like a dying old man. Whereas as a well off professional young character sounded like a spoilt brat. I did not enjoy this and feel I would have enjoyed it more if I would have just replaced the paperback. I would recommend the book but not on audible
