A Mixed Bag
Any additional comments?
I nearly turned this audio book off after a few minutes as I did not like the reader or the fact that the writer (Peter's last wife) insisted on telling her life story. Luckily I did stay with it because it did get better. I enjoyed the details of 1940's Hollywood as well as the inside info on the Kennedy's, Rat-Pack and Marilyn Monroe. Unfortunately it does go down hill towards the end when the author again spends too much time telling her story again - I skipped about 2 hours at this point. So overall, not too bad.

The most depressing bio I've read in all long time
This is a miserable account of a collection of abused, immoral addicts who were revered household names and loved by many. It shatters all illusions about many of the 1950's and 60's stars of the day and no member of the Kennedy family escapes untarred. I can't imagine Patricia Lawford Stewart made many friends when this grim bio was published.

A real horror story
The sad story of two of the least sympathetic people you could ever hope not to meet.
Patricia tells us more about herself than her ex-husband - she’s very self obsessed - and he comes across as a total idiot. Horrifying.

One dimensional tabloid trashy tale.
The co author puts herself at the heart of this book. And frankly there is very little of interest about her. The rest of the Peter Lawford story has been cobbled from tales and reports made long before this author was on the scene. Opportunist telltale story.

Fallen Idol
Well written and well narrated. Hence I've given it all five stars. Not because I liked what I read.
The sad tale of this movie star who didn't stand a chance from the beginning. Childhood abuse.... used by Hollywood..... drugs..... alcohol..... sex. Sad, sad, sad life of this handsome actor who couldn't find a way out.

Nicely narrated
Easy to listen to and an interesting story.
I didn't know much about Peter Lawford before listening to this. I felt Hollywood was brought to life by the words.

Not a biography...
Repetative, filled with gossip, and more about the author than the subject. I disliked the author so much by the final chapter, I was happy it was finished. I do not recommend this title to anyone as it is so repetative, and mostly about the author. Nothing new here.

Awful, just awful
The story is unbelievable and written by a person who cannot hide her bitterness towards others. The more I heard this ‘tale’ the less I believed a word and once you disbelieve any part of a story you find yourself questioning the veracity of it all. Peter Lawford deserves better.
