Awesome!

Must confess I'm a fan of Betsy's written work anyway.
This is 1st audio of hers I've listened to. Excellent storyline! Excellent. I know saying twists can annoy some people but this is twist galore! Couldn't second guess the way this went at all.
I said OH NO quite loudly at work at 1 point, my hubby came straight over with what's wrong. Thinking I'd done something at work. Told him why & he shook his head. Until I explained the plot & why I was shocked.
It was that good!
Def looking for more.
Narrator was very good, different accents & tempo as story picked up & calmed down.
Just excellent!

Great twist

I didn’t see the twist at all. Enjoyed the book. The narration was ok but a bit annoying with often strange pronunciations and the readers male voice was very grating and hard to listen to. However I am still glad I listened as it was a really good story.

Strange pronunciations

Occasionally unsettling and peculiar accent for Josie with such strange pronunciations of some words. It's incredibly jarring when they pop out in the otherwise relatively normal narration: awf for off, cawfee for coffee,
awfice for office. This really put me off and I was so disappointed as I love Betsy Reavley. Had to stop listening.

Very interesting

Interesting story. A bit slow at times but it still captured my interest throughout. The narrator did a good job but as a non native English speeker, it was sometimes difficult to keep up with Jacobs parts due to the accent.
Well worth listening to!

You have to stick with it!

What did you like most about The Quiet Ones?

It took a while to draw me in but overall the story once it did grip really led you on. A couple of good twists that are hard to see coming and a good ending.

What did you like best about this story?

I felt the second half of the book was much better paced and better written than the first. That is why I said at the beginning to stick with it!

Which character – as performed by Suzanne Cerreta – was your favourite?

Really focussed on the main character.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Old sins cast long shadows!

Any additional comments?

I received this audiobook from Bloodhound Books in return for a fair review. I really felt at the beginning of the book that the author was using too much description and it took a while to grab me. But there came a point at which she seemed to have much more belief in her story and it really took off from there. Probably wouldn't have listened to it all if I hadn't been reviewing it but I am glad I did!

Stupid beyond belief

Without giving too much away the conclusion was outrageously unrealistic. I wish authors would do research before diving into story lines filled with medical inaccuracies. I don’t think i was supposed to laugh out loud at this book but i did, heartily at its silliness. Also the narrator was awful for this story too plumby and accents all over the place. I wouldn’t listen to this narrator again

Not worth it

New to this Author. So annoyed I bought a few of her books. Worst book I have listened to for years
