Summary
Sonny's on the run. Sonny is a model prisoner. He listens to the confessions of other inmates, and absolves them of their sins. He's been lied to his whole life. But then one prisoner’s confession changes everything. He knows something about Sonny’s disgraced father. Sonny wants revenge. He needs to break out of prison and make those responsible pay for their crimes. Whatever the cost.

Nesbo at his brilliant best

All star, a brilliant crime story
A very different and interesting crime story, the plot is very complicated and full of surprises, it is a very different nordic noir, and no Harry Hole. There is no clear cut on what is good or bad, right or wrong, justice or injustice, the lines keep crossing one another in a complicated twist. This story would make a great movie too. Definitely recommend to all crime readers.

absolutely loved it <br /><br />..narrative was brilliant.
brilliantly narrated. fantastic characters and really menacing 'Twin' .
I was left rooting for The Son, and was not disappointed.

Awesome Nesbo does it again
Where does The Son rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Totally in the top Jo Nesbo pulls it off again a brilliant fresh story
What did you like best about this story?
Everything the vulnerability of sonny who turns out to be the avenging angel .......reminds me of the crow
What about Sean Barrett’s performance did you like?
I just love everything Sean Barretts narrates his voice is so easy to listen too.

Fab listen!
I chose this based on other reviews as I was absolutely hooked on the Harry Hole series which was excellent but this was... Well fab!
Some great twists and turns keeping you hooked until the twist at the end - a well recommended listen. I'm a big Sean Barrett fan as he really does read the books well and you feel like he's the character. An excellent Jo Nesbo book.
Will there be another.... Hope so!

Good stuff
Could listen to Shaun Barrett read a phone book and he would make it good.. But even better when he gets a good story like this one...

I would rank The Son in the top 5 audiobooks that I've listened to.

I love the way Jo Nesbo plots his books, and how there are multiple plot twists to keep you guessing throughout the book.

Yes, I think this is my favourite Sean Barrett narration so far.
