Summary

The hotly anticipated wedding of Iris Devonshire, ravishing teenage daughter of celebrity couple Mia and Leo, is to be held in the gardens of their grand Palladian pile alongside the Thames. But Mia and Leo worry that she's rushing into the marriage. Just ask their best friends since college, Simon and Laney de Montmorency, whose relationship is on the rocks again - and they've already married each other twice.

On the big day, Iris' hellraiser fiancé, Dougie Everett, is not the only one flying high. As Iris rides up the aisle on a white stallion, a hot air balloon appears over the woods, heading straight for the ceremony. Its arrival is about to transform the lives and loves of some of the wedding guests forever.

The Summer Wedding is a sizzling summer comedy set against the beautiful backdrops of the Chilterns, Spain, Africa, and LA.

Hilarious 😂

Love Fiona Walker. She is at her best here - comedic situations that make you laugh out loud. Good story and the narrator is really good - kept me interested straight from the start.

Loved it

The characters in this book were all brilliant. The time went far too fast, I wish the book was longer

A fun summer read

Where does The Summer Wedding rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the 12th audio book I have listened too, I would rank this in my top 5

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Summer Wedding?

The L.A. cctv incident had me chuckling as I drove down the M4

Have you listened to any of Karen Cass’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I am not familiar with Karen Cass's performances, but I enjoyed her narration of this book, she brought the charterers to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listen to my audio books on my arduous drive on the M4 to/from work, I enjoy getting back into my car and picking up where I have left off.

Very boring and disjointed

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A much better storyline

What will your next listen be?

Probably not another Fiona Walker book

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

It was OK

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Few

Any additional comments?

The story was continually interrupted with episodes of gratuitous sex and horses, which added nothing.

Confusing

A difficult listen, so many characters, did know who was related to who, nearly gave up on it numerous times.
Made it to the end and was relieved it was over.

I really enjoyed this book

I nearly gave up on this book when I'd listened to the first couple of hours. it didn't make any sense with the description.
However I decided to carry on & I'm pleased I did. it was a really good story in the end.
it was a little long but I'm not sure how it could have been made shorter.

Tedious and convoluted

I listened to 8 chapters and returned the book.Slow starting is one thing but this is tedious.
Nothing has happened. Lots of students with similar sounding names being freshers but not really doing anything.
The plot jumps around without grounding or developing any characters. Maybe it picks up later but this book is way too long and life's way too short.
