Summary

‘Tis was terrific

The voice captured who I thought the man was. The fiddle playing was a nice touch. Brilliant book!

Just Brilliant - Listen!

That’s all I can say. It’s just brilliant. Listen to it narrated by Frank himself. It’s a shame there’s not a full version. That’s all.

Abridged but I haven’t read the original so it seemed quite complete to me

As other reviewers have pointed out, this is the abridged version, so since I haven’t read the original I didn’t notice anything missing from the story. It was very authentic to have McCourt’s voice telling his own story. The little inflections reveal the hidden meanings and jokes. Very enjoyable in a slightly sad kind of way...

Worth the time and very compelling listening. If you've seen the film Angela's Ashes, this book continues the story and was a privilege to hear.
