Summary

A blockbuster thriller from number one Sunday Times best-selling author Sam Bourne, in which Maggie Costello uncovers an assassination plot to kill the tyrannical new president.

The unthinkable has happened….

The United States has elected a volatile demagogue as president, backed by his ruthless chief strategist, Crawford 'Mac' McNamara.

When a war of words with the North Korean regime spirals out of control and the president comes perilously close to launching a nuclear attack, it's clear someone has to act, or the world will be reduced to ashes.

Soon Maggie Costello, a seasoned Washington operator and stubbornly principled, discovers an inside plot to kill the president - and faces the ultimate moral dilemma. Should she save the president and leave the free world at the mercy of an increasingly crazed would-be tyrant - or commit treason against her commander in chief and risk plunging the country into a civil war?

CHANGE THE NARRATOR. NOW.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A narrator of intelligence and ability.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Unable to form an opinion. The female narrator was excruciating, managed less that 2 hours before giving up disgusted. Will continue in book form. Infact, bought 3 copies. No one to irritate me, but myself.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jennifer Woodward’s performances?

NEVER.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from To Kill the President?

THE NARRATOR.

Any additional comments?

Excellent novel killed by horrible rendition, like listening to an high school girl over acting a script. Never heard an American narrate anything so poor. You'll be irritated beyond belief, if you love the English language.

Dire

Weak story. Awful narrator. Worst Irish accent I have ever heard. Disappointing. I expected much better from this story.

An interesting - and plausible - story.

A plausible and interesting story.

What didn’t you like about Jennifer Woodward’s performance?

Her attempts to "voice" the various characters was, to my ears, strained and irritating. Your experinece may differ.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Rather it made me think.

Super story

A totally believable tale especially in today's American political climate. My first book by these authors, it won't be my last.

A good read!

The only thing that I found distracting was the narrators attempt of different accents. Really enjoyed this audiobook though!

Trump Derangement Fantasy

If you hate Trump you will love this book. Otherwise probably not a good read for you.

Great story

Great story. It could almost be true. Not a fan of the narration. The voice is grating.
