Summary

A terrorist bomb explodes during a South Korean celebration of the anniversary of the election of its first president.

Alarms are raised in Washington. No one is claiming responsibility.

The first suspect is North Korea. Could it be making a power play against South Korea and unification? If so, how will the U.S. respond? Paul Hood, Director of the Op-Center, must answer these questions. The Op-Center, a largely autonomous new agency which takes on the government's toughest security problems, is only six months old, and has never been given a foreign crisis until now.

Hood's team, which includes a general, a former ambassador, a psychologist, and a computer specialist, tries to find the solution, only to discover a factor that could change the new world order.

Huge fan of the books, now a fan of Michael Kramer

I have read all of Tom Clancy's book and I have to say I really like the style of Michael Kramer. Good tone of voice, easy to listen to but knows how to to drama when the moment needs it.

As for thebook, not Clancy's best but Op Center does become a very good series if you like style and are taking a break from all things Jack Ryan. This book sets up characters that you will like, loath and follow over the next few books.

Awful, Too many parts and places referred to

By letters only . Unless you have been a US Marine or a White House Spy it can be confusing trying to get. A smooth and enjoyable read

Annoying narration

What would have made Tom Clancy's Op-Center better?

A different narrator.

What was most disappointing about the authors’s story?

The narrators voice.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Michael Kramer?

Anyone who doesn't 'ask a question' in the middle of and at the end of most sentences. Infuriating vocal habit.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Can't say, couldn't bear to listen to more than 45 minutes.

Any additional comments?

Only stuck it out for the first 45 minutes, before the narrators irritating voice sent me screaming for the off switch!
