This lesser-known third novella of Twain's Tom and Huck Series is a delightful, if unusual, addition to the cannon. Told in Twain's inimitable style, Tom Sawyer Abroad picks up where The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn leaves off, and takes you in an entirely different direction.

Great performance, enjoyable book
The narrator does an excellent job of following the written style by Mark Twain. I love the pronunciation and how he does a great job of imitating the various accents that are used in the book. The story does not quite match up to the preceding Tom Sawyer book, but it's yet another fun tale that follows the gang.

I am a huge fan of Mark Twain and his colorful writing style that paints a caricature of people and life at that time in rural America. This book was quite adventurous and faster paced than his quintessential more well known works, like the Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I guess I preferred the stories set in the Missouri river region over this setting, and The final Chapter ended rather abruptly without enough development.
The performance was solid, with the cadence an accent very accurately developed. My only dislike was that the narrator performed Tom Sawyers voice a bit too feminine and I kept having to remind myself that it wasn't a female character who just showed up.
But, if you are like me and want to read or listen to all the works of a favorite author, even if just for comparison sake, it's worth the time invested.
