Summary

Russell Green is about to discover the importance of unconditional love.

At 32, Russell Green has it all: a loving family, a successful career and a beautiful house. But underneath his seemingly perfect life, cracks are beginning to appear...and no one is more surprised than Russ when the life he took for granted is turned upside down.

Finding himself single-handedly caring for his young daughter, London, whilst trying to launch his own business, the only thing Russ knows is that he must shelter London from the consequences of these changes.

Then a chance encounter with an old flame tempts him to take a chance on love again, and with the support of his family, Russ finally comes to understand the true nature of unconditional love.

Tia romsey

Sometimes the main character was a bit annoying but it was all part of how good it was written. Made me smile and cry

Bloke gets a divorce...

This is a really slow story. Until the last couple of hours, it really was an audiobook version of muzak, just something in in the background. There’s not much happening apart from a guy breaking up with his wife. For about 10 hours. Redeemed itself towards the end, but only if you don’t need much plot...

A nice story for divorcees

The story will be quite interesting for people going through a divorce or recently divorced. It touches common topics about parenthood and trust. The development of the main character is not as profound as it could have been to make it a big novel. Nonetheless, I did enjoy a lot this reading.

hooked

This story had me hooked from the beginning. Be prepared it is a tear jerker. The main characters a family who start out with everything seeming okay, Russ the devoted husband and father. Vivian who starts off the lovely wife turns and I found myself getting quite cross with her. London the daughter who is beautifully grown up for such a young girl. The story also includes the extended family. I found that I could not stop listening rooting for the characters in the story and longing for happiness of the each characters.

It is one of the best books I have ever listened too. The voice actors and story is marvellous.

Nice story but ...

I enjoyed the story but I found the narrator annoying when doing the voice of Vivian, it was very whiney but maybe that was to ensure you disliked the character. There was also extremely annoying music playing over the narration through various points in the book, I thought it was an error but it isn't

Lovely!!

Loved the story, reader was great, music was in random places and didn't "gel" well, often drowning the voice out. But otherwise another goodie from Nicholas Sparks

Lovely story and well read.....shame about the music

I have enjoyed his story and the end was a real shock. But there have been a few occasions where they suddenly bust out some music over the words..... strange and kind of distracting. I see what is trying to be done but it's so random!! Almost takes away from the moment. Weird!
