Summary

Athelwyrd, the last great bastion of Ghyran's sylvaneth, has fallen to the pestilent servants of the Plague God. At their head, the warlord Torglug the Despised will do anything to seize the ultimate prize his master so fervently desires: Alarielle, the Everqueen.

Her defenders will not see her taken easily, though - Lord-Castellant Grymn and his chamber of Hallowed Knights have sworn themselves to her protection. As a great exodus of sylvaneth and Stormcast Eternals sets out from the ruin of Athelwyrd with Torglug's Chaos host hard on their heels, the strength and conviction of Alarielle's defenders will be tested as never before.

WOW!

These realmgate wars books with Johnathan Keeble narrating are a match made in heaven as the narrators performance matches perfectly the drama of what’s going on in the story. These are the first fiction books I’ve read/listened to in a decade and I only gave them a try because I got back into the tabletop game after an equal hiatus. I finished all the realmgate wars series in 2 weeks, I couldn’t stop! Please keep making them and Johnathan please keep narrating them!

All hail Torglug!

Good story, great subplot, not a fan of the Branchwraith's voice though... hurts your ears.

Hallowed Knights = best stormhost

Nice to listen to while painting
Narrator gives flavour to the characters, most are good, but Lady of Vines sounded...unique.
