Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Wars of the Roses: Trinity, the second instalment in Conn Iggulden's thrilling Wars of the Roses trilogy.
1454: King Henry VI has remained all but exiled in Windsor Castle, struck down by his illness for over a year, his eyes vacant, his mind a blank. His fiercely loyal wife and Queen, Margaret of Anjou, safeguards her husband's interests, hoping that her son Edward will one day know the love of his father.
Richard Duke of York, Protector of the Realm, extends his influence throughout the kingdom with each month that Henry slumbers. The Earls of Salisbury and Warwick make up a formidable trinity with Richard, and together they seek to break the support of those who would raise their colours in the name of Henry and his Queen. But when the King unexpectedly recovers his senses and returns to London to reclaim his throne, the balance of power is once again thrown into turmoil.
The clash of the Houses of Lancaster and York will surely mean a war to tear England apart . . .

Great book but dodgy recording
The story is brilliant but is let down by a bad recording. Sentences and sometimes entire passages are repeated. At one point the recording goes silent for several seconds only to resume, sentences later, as if nothing had happened.

Just as good as the first part.
Although I've not read his earlier books Conn Iggulden really is my favourite historical writer at the moment, on account of how much I'm enjoying this series. Here is vivid writing of good history, and it is really well read too. The only slight shame is the lack of just a moment's pause between chapters, but I can't blame the narrator for that.
Great stuff

Queen Margaret and Richard, Duke of York
Perhaps if you are an historical purist, this book is not for you. But if you are looking for a rattling good read, well told and filled with larger than life characters from one of England's most colourful periods of the past,, of ambition, betrayal, hate and bloody battles, then I highly recommend Trinity and the others in this series.

Fleshing out the bones of history
I am very interested in the Wars of the Roses and know the historical facts behind it well. Conn Iggulden has turned these facts into a fantastic work of fiction. His characters are very well drawn and the historical figures in the book are humanised. Iggulden doesn't take sides and paints rounded characters, with both their less desirable traits and their softer sides exposed.
I have enjoyed the first two books of the series very much and can't wait for the next!

Fabulous!
If you could sum up Wars of the Roses: Trinity in three words, what would they be?
Plots! Intrigue! Action!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Wars of the Roses: Trinity?
Some of the shocking way people are treated spring to mind, torture, be-headings, betrayal. Its fascinating.
What does Roy McMillan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Great characterization. He reads beautifully and I felt I could get to know the characters so much better.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I frequently stayed sitting in my car outside the office waiting for the chapter to end so I could go into work!

Great book
I love Conn Iggulden books, the only reason I did not give this 5 stars overall is because there were 4 or 5 places where a sentence was repeated.

Excellent book and narration
If you could sum up Wars of the Roses: Trinity in three words, what would they be?
Entertaining, Enjoyable, Action
What did you like best about this story?
I have read the other books and I have enjoyed them all but it is the first one as an audiobook and it is more interesting this way. The story is well know but the author makes it is own and therefore I've not been bored one minute
What does Roy McMillan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Excellent choice of narrator for this sort of story, he does a great job with the different characters
