Summary

A gripping narrative from the master of the race against time thriller. Have you ever been in the wrong place at the wrong time? You are hiking in the Scottish highlands with three friends when you come across a girl. She is half-naked, has been badly beaten, and she can’t speak English. She is clearly running away from someone. Do you stop to help her? Even if it means putting your friends’ lives - and your own - in terrible danger?

Beware Short Story

What did you like best about Wrong Time, Wrong Place? What did you like least?

As per usual Kernick captures your attention from the very beginning. Usual kernick fare of fast paced thriller, hard to believe situations but entertaining and easy to listen to

Any additional comments?

I admit I wouldn't have bought this if I had realised it was a short story. Having listened to many books by this author I assumed I was set for 9 hours or so of action packed listening and was disappointed when it ended so quickly and so unsatisfactorily

Not bad.. Beautifully narrated

I had discovered Simon Kernick through my accidental find of 'Relentless' which I could not put down. This, on the other hand had potential but didn't do enough for me. It started and ended as abruptly as each other. Not enough twists and turns for me. Ok, but expected more.

I couldn't sleep!

I have just listened to this audiobook most of the night, so interesting is the plot. Just imagine: a naked girl badly bruised appears in the middle of nowhere, visibly escaping
something, but impossible to know what, she doesn't speak English. And serious troubles begin for the foursome of friends on a trek in the woods. Highly addictive as a story,
I had to listen through and learn how it ends. The female narrator is very good, one of the best narrations I have listened to. You are warned: don't start listening to it in the
evening, you will not sleep.

Ending begs further investigation to make another1st class crime mystery, by one of my favorite authors!!

very weak plot

Such an unlikely plot being read like a child's night time story. Didn't enjoy this at all, unlike other Simon Kernick books I have read
