Summary

On the morning of Lily's 25th birthday, it's time to open the very last letter written to her by her beloved mother, who died when she was eight.

Learning more about the first and only real love of her mum's life is a revelation. On the same day, Lily also meets Eddie Tessler, a man fleeing fame who just might have the ability to change her world in unimaginable ways. But her childhood friend, Dan, has his own reasons for not wanting Lily to get too carried away by Eddie's attentions.

Before long, secrets begin to emerge, and Lily's friends and family become involved. In the beautiful Cotswold village of Stanton Langley, nothing will ever be the same again....

Pleasant

A pleasant listen but a little corny sometimes. However I wanted to listen to the end.

Predictable chick lit, but still enjoyable

The storyline was predictable, the characters were predictable and the outcome was obvious from page 1, but hey it was escapist, and I enjoyed it!

A tale of true love

Really enjoyed this story of love which takes many forms! The childhood surrounded by love and the various relationships along the way. Lily loves life and everyone in it but where does friendship end and love begin?
Beautifully read. I always like a reader who manages to use lots of different voices so you know who is speaking. The telephone voices were a stroke of genius!

Great Easy Listening

Easy listening romantic story. Not a lot if concentration needed. With all Gills books you know what’s going to happen.
Narrator good.

Not her best

...though, having said that, it was fine, just not her sparkling best ...and maybe that was coloured by the bright-eyed, bushy tailed rendition of Lily who sounded about 12 rather than 25. Otherwise there was great differentiation between members of the cast and believable accents all round. Just not one I'd bother to go back to
