Summary

A love story by Rainbow Rowell, the New York Times bestselling author of Eleanor & Park.

Cath and Wren are identical twins, and until recently they did absolutely everything together. Now they're off to university and Wren's decided she doesn't want to be one half of a pair any more – she wants to dance, meet boys, go to parties and let loose. It's not so easy for Cath. She's horribly shy and has always buried herself in the fan fiction she writes, where she always knows exactly what to say and can write a romance far more intense than anything she's experienced in real life.

Without Wren Cath is completely on her own and totally outside her comfort zone. She's got a surly room-mate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... And she can't stop worrying about her dad, who's loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

Now Cath has to decide whether she's ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she's realizing that there's more to learn about love than she ever thought possible...

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell comes with special bonus material; the first chapter from Rainbow's irresistible novel Carry On.

As amazing as I knew it was going to be.

Ever since I read Fangirl it's been one of my all time favourite books. Living in the UK we usually get stuff behind the rest of the world but when I finally saw it was available I screamed like the fangirl I am I'm 27 and happy to call myself a fangirl. This book was performed amazingly I love how it switched from Cath to the Simon Snow scenes absolutely fantastic I love this book even more thank you Rainbow Rowell for all your amazing stories. xx

Great coming of age story

Really enjoyed the story and narration! There’s a good balance of lightheartedness and poignant moments

Great Read!

This is a great look at the struggle of being a new person in a new place. I wish I had this when I had started university but was definitely grateful when I started school again. As with most Young Adult books there was a romance that had an issue and there was a lack of communication which I normally find annoying but I was able to overlook this as the story was able to shine through and the romance was secondary to the overarching theme of being yourself and the fact that you will get through a change no matter how impossible it seems.

Very moreish

The more I listened, the more I wanted to know. I've stayed up for about a weeks listening to this book until 1am ! I wish it didn't end the way it did as I really wanted to hear what happened at the end!

Didn't really enjoy Fangirl storyline

I didn't really enjoy Fangirl, I found the story dull.
The writing is excellent and I enjoyed how it was written and read, both of which kept me listening to the end.

different

I'm not sure what to say about this book, I both liked and disliked it
when I first started listening I had to pick my phone back up to check I hadn't clicked on the wrong thing as it was confusing at first, once I got used to the layout of the book it was ok but I don't really think the excerpts from the book she writes fan fiction for really added that much, I found it got quite irritating later on.
the story itself is mostly a standard YA coming of age while dealing with life's struggles, it's well written and I enjoyed the story but i don't think I'd call it memorable

My honest opinion

To be honest the main character is so stubborn and she gets on my nerves.

It could be more romantic

I absolutely adore this book

I’m an massive reader and I was always recommended this book but I didn’t want to pick it up thinking I wouldn’t like it because of the fact it’s more of a love story than I’m used to but I can safely say I was extremely wrong, I love it. It’s actually so cute ,fun and a little sad but it actually fits so well for the characters in this book. I strongly suggest reading or listening to it especially if you are a fan girl or fanfic writer yourself.
