In the old-world shadows of Providence, Rhode Island, Nina Grey finds herself the center of a war between Hell and Earth. Struggling with her father's recent death, Nina meets Jared Ryel by chance…or so she believes.
Although his stunning good looks and mysterious talents are a welcome distraction, it soon becomes clear that Jared knows more about Nina than even her friends at Brown University. When questions outnumber answers, Jared risks everything to keep the woman he was born to save - by sharing the secret he was sworn to protect.
When her father's former associates begin following her in the dark, Nina learns that her father is not the man she thought he was, but a thief who stole from demons. Searching for the truth behind her father's death, Nina stumbles upon something she never expected - something Hell wants - and only she holds the key.

If you could sum up Providence in three words, what would they be?

AMAZING, intense and romantic

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nina - Because she's a very strong young woman who is in a difficult situation but pulls through all the same.

Have you listened to any of Carly Robins’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed and smiled a lot.

Any additional comments?

This book is a very unique cleverly put together book. Well worth the read! I will be going on to listen to Requiem the 2nd book!

Jamie McGuire and Paranormal!! A great change

What made the experience of listening to Providence the most enjoyable?

I love paranormal books. I have listened to this narrator before and I love her. I loved being able to "hear" a voice with the book. It makes reading the book more enjoyable when you can hear how someone may sound.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Providence?

Providence had a lot of moments that will last with me. Nina and Jared relationship was rocky to say the least. I loved when Nina finally realized that Jared was it for her. No one else would ever take his place and once she realized that his family was very protective not only of him but of her. They loved her and would do anything for her. The fight scenes and Jared's family and Nina's friends made listening even better.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were so many but when the intruders came in the house and didn't know what Jared's family was really "made of" was surprising. I loved his siblings and their innocence but also their strength.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I listened to it at work so there was minimal distraction and I loved it

it was okay

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This book was just a little too repetitive for me. I feel like the conflict wasn't good enough. I'm still interested in the story & curious about the next book in the series. I just think it needed a little more plot. I'm in love with the Beautiful Disaster series, so I'm willing to give future books a chance.

Has Providence turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I like the idea of the book.! but I just needed something more.
